Co-Director of Media Communications
Dr. Bray-Aschenbrenner, MD, FAAP, is a double board certified pediatric emergency medicine physician in Kansas City. She completed pediatric residency at St. Louis University and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Her research interest include quality improvement of care for patients in the ED and examining environmental risk factors for pediatric firearm injuries.

Dr. Bray-Aschenbrenner has worked exclusively in pediatric level 1 trauma centers throughout her medical career and has first hand experience with the devastation firearm injuries cause to patients, families, and communities, as well as the second hand trauma experienced by the medical professionals caring for these children. The school shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, which she responded to in the ED, prompted her to pursue an active role in advocacy for her patients and community. She strongly believes that no child should ever fear going to school, nor should parents have to worry about children becoming victims of violence in such spaces. She joined OnCall4Kids in 2023 and has travelled to Capitol Hill several times to discuss common sense firearm laws with lawmakers. She now serves as the Kansas State Captain and co-Director of Social Media for OnCall4Kids. She plans to use her expertise and public facing position to educate, elevate, and advocate on behalf of all children and families.
